The Ford F-150 is the standard-bearer of the U.S. auto industry, the biggest-selling vehicle right now. Now that we're three years past the major redesign, what does the 2018 Ford F-150 have to offer buyers? Will it keep the F-150 at the top of the sales charts?

Why Buy the 2018 Ford F-150?
To no one's surprise, the changes in the 2018 Ford F-150 are relatively minor, since it hasn't been long since the entire design was overhauled. That said, the 2018 model year does offer quite a few minor enhancements, such as cosmetic enhancements to the front grill, headlights, taillights, wheels, and the tailgate applique.
More fundamental change comes by way of a new 3.0-liter PowerStroke turbodiesel engine, a new gas V-6 engine, and the wider availability of Ford's segment-first ten-speed automatic transmission and other engine tweaks. The new model year also brings the availability of class-exclusive Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection and an available Wi-Fi hotspot to add to what is already an impressive list of standard and available features and equipment in the F-150.
Is the Ford F-150 a Good Truck?
Good means different things to different people, but when someone asks this about a truck, the answer is almost always focused on one thing: performance. You can obviously get more power and performance from the Super Duty models, but the 2018 F-150 isn't too far behind. Nearly 75 percent of new truck buyers have chosen V-6 engines, so of course Ford is now offering even more V-6 options with the 2018 F-150. A smaller, more efficient 3.3-liter V-6 is now included in the range (with dual port and direct-injection technology for extra power and torque). An added bonus with the new engine is the improved EPA-estimated fuel economy it delivers, so it's a real win-win situation for customers.
When it comes down to it, for most buyers what a truck can tow and haul is pretty much the be-all and end-all, and it's easy to see why the F-150 is America's favorite pickup truck. When properly configured, the 2018 F-150 delivers best-in-class payload and tow ratings. The truck can be equipped in a number of different ways, depending on the application, to smooth out the toughest of workdays and make every job as productive as possible.
Does the Ford F-150 Come in Diesel?
Not yet! But Spring 2018 will begin the roll out of the brand-new 3.0-liter PowerStroke turbodiesel engine in select Ford F-150 models.
